Central CCAC/LHIN – Multi-Organizational Collaboration Improves Patient Care

More and more, technology projects that enable better patient care happen outside the walls of any one organizations. They involve connecting teams of people together from multiple organizations, disciplines, cultures and systems in a way that transforms the process of healthcare. Drawing on real life experiences, including the Central LHIN RM&R implementation across Central CCAC and all seven hospitals in the LHIN, this session will take you on a journey, describing the critical success factors, the challenges and outcomes, and help our understanding of the importance of collaboration for achieving health system goals of improved care.

IBM – Dr. Watson ('The Doctor Is In')
IBM has developed the next generation of Big Blue (the computer that beats Chessmaster Gary Kasporov). Dr. Watson is an interactive computer device that aids physicians and clinicians in assessing and diagnosing patients and prescribing treatment/intervention. Dr. Watson may well portend the future of medical care.
